Fieldline - Missed-Call Job Rescue · Last updated: 19 September 2026 · Draft
1. Who we are
This notice explains how Fieldline (“we”, “us”) handles personal data in connection with our Missed-Call Job Rescue service and this website.
- Trading name: Fieldline
- Operator: Jonathan Kernaghan
- Legal entity / company number: [TODO - insert registered company name & number, or sole trader status]
- Registered / correspondence address: [TODO - UK address]
- Contact email: [email protected]
- ICO registration: [TODO - registration number if applicable]
2. What this service does
When a customer of a trade business (our client) misses a phone call, we help send a short SMS, collect replies that qualify the job (e.g. job type, postcode, urgency), and notify the tradesperson so they can call back. We also run this marketing website.
3. Whose data we process
- Website visitors / demo enquirers - people who contact us about Fieldline.
- Our clients - the trade business owners who subscribe to the service.
- End callers - people who phone a client’s business number, miss the call, and may reply to SMS. For end-caller data we typically act as a processor on behalf of the trade client (the controller), unless we decide otherwise in a written agreement. [TODO - confirm controller/processor split in contracts.]
4. What we collect
From demo / contact forms or email:
- Name, email, phone (if given), trade type, and any message you send.
From operating Missed-Call Job Rescue for a client:
- Caller phone numbers associated with missed calls.
- SMS content sent and received (job type, postcode, urgency, preferred callback, STOP requests).
- Client business details needed to configure the service (services, areas, tone of voice, alert preferences).
- Operational logs needed to run and monitor the service (delivery status, timestamps).
This static website does not currently set advertising cookies or run analytics scripts. If that changes, this notice will be updated. [TODO - confirm hosting access logs / analytics.]
5. Why we use the data (lawful bases)
- Contract - to provide the service a client has signed up for, and to respond to a demo request.
- Legitimate interests - to operate, secure, and improve the service; to follow up genuine business enquiries; and (for end callers) to help the business they tried to contact respond to their enquiry, in a way that would be reasonably expected after they dialled that business.
- Legal obligation - where we must keep records for tax, accounting, or regulatory reasons.
- Consent - where we rely on it (e.g. optional marketing beyond the service itself). You can withdraw consent at any time.
Marketing SMS to end callers is not what this product is for: the SMS is a response path after they called the business. Recipients can reply STOP to opt out of further texts from that flow.
6. Who we share data with
We use service providers (processors) only as needed to deliver the product, for example:
- SMS / messaging providers
- Hosting and email infrastructure
- Optional VoIP or call-forwarding partners used to detect missed calls
[TODO - list named processors and locations once chosen.] We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
7. International transfers
If a provider stores or processes data outside the UK, we will use appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses) where required. [TODO - confirm transfer map for chosen stack.]
8. How long we keep data
- Demo enquiries: typically up to 24 months after last contact, unless you ask us to delete sooner or we need to keep a record of the conversation.
- Client account & operational data: for the life of the contract and a reasonable period afterwards for disputes, billing, and legal retention. [TODO - set exact retention periods in the client agreement.]
- STOP / suppression records: kept as long as needed to honour opt-outs.
9. Your rights (UK GDPR)
Depending on the situation, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase data in certain cases
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Data portability (where applicable)
- Withdraw consent where we rely on consent
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk
To exercise rights relating to end-caller data collected for a trade client, contact that business first (they are usually the controller). You can also email us at [email protected] and we will help route the request.
10. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data (access controls, least-privilege tooling, careful handling of message logs). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
11. Children
Our services are aimed at UK trade businesses and their adult customers. We do not knowingly target children.
12. Changes
We may update this notice. The “last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
